Desert Eagle Muzzle Attachments/Potential Suppressor For All
Sorry for the inconvenience earlier, I couldn't edit the poll on the previous post of the Desert Eagle, but back to the topic.
I really want a new suppressor just for the Desert Eagle series guns in Phantom Forces, this suppressor is very well-known for its appearance in Hollywood movies, but I did say previously that it'd have statistics similar to the PBS-1 Suppressor due to its length and design depth, now don't get me wrong, I didn't ask to replace it, I asked to have the Desert Eagle Hollywood Suppressor to be put as a cosmetic, to serve as a custom look on all suppressors, not replacing the suppressor itself in general. Same thing with the Muzzle Brake and Compensator, I want the option to change them cosmetically, just without replacing them entirely, the suppressor and muzzles would look like this:
Note: I suggest making the Hollywood Suppressor available to all guns, as a counter against the Loudener, you'll get what I mean, also that these cosmetics be added as separate attachments to avoid confusion and disruption to anyone, Stylis, I appreciate your consideration.
Hint: A faster way to make this, just copy the Long Barrel on the Desert Eagle, then add the bottom/lower part on it, then do the details, drill holes, etc.
Please vote honestly, and provide me a good point if you disagree, I really want to know your insights and perspectives on this, I'll respond accordingly.
Last week or two, I suggested more skin slots and custom reflections. Now, I have a client that suggested this to me, though I forgot who. Skin transparency. They really thought well about it, talking about how some guns had transparent chassis on them, or even transparent magazines. Now, if we had more skin slots for different parts of the guns, then, what if we had skin transparency? We could make transparent magazines, a good example is the AUG series, their magazines would look lovely if they were transparent, just one problem, boolets. And that's where Magazine Rounds/Suppressor Baffles comes into play as a setting, I know this may cause lag, but know your logic, this should be disabled by default and set as an option for you to decide, don't be a killjoy, make a better point than saying "More looks, more lag", that's true, but that can be logically solved. I don't put my hope in this, but I do wish this was implemented, just imagine a transparent suppressor, it'd break in real life, but it'd sure look nice shooting it, the problem is details on suppressor baffles, and again this setting is disabled by DEFAULT. As I was saying, this would come in really nice if there were more skin slots. Let me know what you think!
Note: Before voting, you acknowledge that this proposed setting will be disabled by default in the Main Menu Setting, if you disagree, tell me a point, a good one. If you ever consider this being added, don't forget integral suppressors or muzzles too.
Kriss Vector Integrated Suppressor
So, I've been doing research on the Kriss Vector, I was just really fascinated by the design, then I came upon suppressors and actually found out that there's many suppressors designed as an integrated barrel for the Kriss Vector. Basically, the Kriss Vector literally has a variety of integrated suppressors available. If you're wonder what they look like:
It's pretty rare and expensive, usually seen at gun shows, so I recommend making this a high-kill attachment. The benefit of having a suppressor integrated to the Kriss Vector will provide more weight, reducing recoil, sound masking, and even a nicer look, just slower aiming speed, walk-speed, or even reloading. I also have another idea, while you're at it with the integrated suppressor, combine it with this gorgeous handguard:
Tell me what you guys think! I don't know if this is a great idea, but this gun is known to be very customizable, and it'd be nice to have this as an addition.
On Weapon Details
Now, for a while, I've observed a struggle in getting some details on some of my weapons, especially on skins and reflectance sliders. And a good example of a problem is that, we barely have any options to color or apply skins on which part of the gun, like the Desert Eagle L5, which has been bugging me for a while, I can't seem to add reflectance to both the charging handle and the barrel. But the hand grip and barrel are put in one slot (Slot 2), which limits my customizability. And as for the reflectance, I can't seem to get it right, a shiny gray, metallic finish, but instead, I just get a bright blue reflection of the sky at day, I think it'd be nice to have an RGB customization of the tone of the reflection, without interfering with the color of the actual skybox, typically, a hidden and personal skybox that the reflectance would render than the main skybox, for short, a hidden-local skybox, only seen by your perspective. It sounds expensive in terms of performance, but it seems possible. I'm just not sure when or if it'll happen anytime soon. I hope it does, though. Phantom Forces has a mix of impressive graphics and gameplay, and I sure hope that customizability and variety adds to it. The picture below shows my conflict with my skin on the Desert Eagle L5, as you can see, I'm trying to make the barrel reflective like the charging handle, but I'm limited to it giving a black-polymer look as you see on the hand grip:
What do you think? Hidden/Local skyboxes for reflections on skins, plus more options on applying skins? Vote here.
- Custom-colored reflections/hidden, local skyboxes that are customizable in tone of color. - More slots/parts for skins on weapons. Based on attachments too. - No, keep it that way. [/poll]___>
Sniper Scope Customization
I made a post a while ago about my concern on Scopes WIP Feedback (Test Place), and I mean the default ones, such as PM II, which is my favorite scope on the AWM, I've been wondering why these default scopes don't have customization for their reticles. Let me know what you guys think!
Note: This applies to empty-slot sights, like the default iron sights, or even the BFG-50 Scope.
And Stylis, if you guys ever do consider adding this in, add this option to iron sights too, I'd gladly want a green highlight on the Default Iron Sight of my Desert Eagle, or perhaps red. Thanks for you consideration.
I know what some may think, they may want to keep the original lasers, but I do too, but I've been struggling to match lasers with my sights, while keeping the same benefits on the gun I'm using. I've been combining the Green Laser on my Coyote Sight, and it's just not matching well, blue-tinted lens with a red laser point, then on the other end, a green laser. I don't find it nice together, I prefer the red color, but I can never get a red laser that works just like the green laser, either way, it's for night-vision, so color wouldn't matter, you can't determine colors. But we don't have night-vision, except for a scope, which feels awfully bright, I'll mention it in another post.
Back to the point, I want lasers to be customizable, even the Hera CQB Grip's laser, but don't get me wrong, again. My proposal here, should let the lasers remain their color by default, not white or black, nothing else. But I want an option to customize their color, plus it may ease some people that struggle to see colors, adjusting to what fits their eyes. I, myself, struggle to see the lasers, as I think they lack depth and brightness, so I plan to make it white, as I deem it the easiest color to see, in my opinion. I've been struggling to hip-fire with lasers, my eyes don't see green and red very well, plus most of the maps have green (grass or paint), not sure about red, it's hard to see red in the dark. Tell me what you think!
Note: These lasers will keep their original color, and customization to their color will be disabled by default, giving you the option to enable it or not. Stylis, if you guys ever consider implementing this, don't forget to add this option to guns with empty-slot lasers, if you plan to add any soon. Also, if you disagree, tell me your reasoning, I'll try to understand your point, I'll respond accordingly.
Hint: These lasers may be expected to be changed in their names, for example, the Green Laser may be renamed Night-Vision Laser, sorry if this seems unfortunate to you, feel free to vote what you think. I'll do more inspection on the lasers to think of proposed names for them. Expect a list, I'll be adding a screenshot or more.
List of Lasers (Proposed Names)
- Night-Vision Laser =
Green Laser (Green)
- General Laser/Multi-Purpose Laser =
Blue Laser (Blue)
1 Laser - Laser (
Red, remains the same)
2 Hera CQR Laser (
Orange, remains the same)
3 Tri Laser (
Red, remains the same)
These three lasers will remain the same, but still customizable.
These will all be customizable and have been proposed alternate names if the Laser Color Option has been enabled.

A Muffled Mystery (Repost due to glitch)
On the original post, I mentioned on my thoughts about the Muffler, comparing it with the Oil Filter, I brought up the idea of having the Muffler give some sound masking from the radar. Take note, a Muffler is quite small, it's sound masking would be similar to a short suppressor based on the size, it'd probably have the detection range of more than 150 studs or so, I recommend 200 studs, or just leave it be. Here's a proper poll, sorry for the previous poll. This isn't really a suggestion, I really want to see your insights on this idea, if we get a positive outlook on this, make it a suggestion, indeed.
A Muffled Mystery (Attachment/Muzzle)
Detection rates on the poll are all static, they won't differ in detection rates in other guns, they'll remain the same as other suppressors are now. Also, note, Mufflers are named "mufflers" since they weren't meant to be like suppressors, this post is meant to grab your insight and perspective onto this approach, it's not a suggestion, but I'll make it one if I get any good responses. Read before you vote or respond too. Good luck reading!
The Muffler reminds me of very short suppressors. And after checking them out, thinking, what if the Muffler could actually provide radar masking? Done some research, and they sound slightly similar to suppressors, but they only reduce decibels by little, they're not much. They have very short masking, like about a 200 stud detection range. The Muffler is a smaller version of the Oil Filter, and it's drastically smaller, making it at least offer some muffled detection range, right? I recommend 100-400 studs, anything lower is too much and can be easily unbalanced.
Honestly, detection ranges on the Muffler doesn't sound like a good idea to me, but I really want to see what you guys think. Also, ask yourself these questions:
- Should the Muffler get a tiny amount of radar masking or not?
- If so, what should the detection ranges be?
- Will this ruin balance in the game?
Let me know in the polls and comments.
Also, I don't like muzzles relying on static detection ranges to alter stats, let them vary on the range, velocity, and caliber of the gun, use a multiplier or something. It'd really help out with balancing.
For example, a .22 pistol would have a stud detection range of 100 with a Muffler on, while a .338 sniper would have the stud detection rate of 300. You'd get the idea, or you can stick to the static system. Just not a fan of having bigger calibers have the same detection range as smaller calibers with the same suppressor.
A while ago, I made a post about reflectance in skins, where you'd have local skyboxes to take over the color. But I made that post horribly confusing and hard to understand to some players.
Just to clarify, you know how skins change color by material, but if you were ever to put reflectance on it, the color of the reflections are based on the skyboxes, which I don't like. My point is, not only does the material change in color, so should the reflection of the skybox. I know one of the Developer guns in Phantom Forces have a pink skybox reflection (the Honey Badger). I'm certain it's possible. I just hope Stylis currently has developers that can work on the skins. No worries if you simply can't do it, it's cosmetic anyways. And again, another poll in case any of you change your minds.
This image is the reflection of the sky with a red tint film, even though the sky is blue, you still see the blue areas as red because of the red film, but for Phantom Forces, this doesn't apply, no matter the color, blue is always the primary color, it should be the chosen color that primarily shows. That's why I recommend tinting the skybox reflections on skins, it doesn't let the blue color overpower. Sorry for the tiny picture, it hates me.
So a week ago, a fellow player made a really nice suggestion on my post about blurring skin textures. It's a pretty good one. Credits to M4 SOPMOD II!
Anyways, they suggested that we be able to rotate skins. And honestly, I think it's a great idea, it wouldn't really affect your skin in any bad way, nor unbalance anything, obviously, just a change of angle. Skin rotation is really just spinning textures to an angle you like, that's pretty much it. Tell me what you think! Give credit to M4 SOPMOD II!
Note: If you think I'm going to fast with my suggestions, please understand I'm willing to be patient enough for things like these to be implemented. Even if I overload Phantom Forces with suggestions, just know any issue that prevents implementations doesn't mean I'll be disappointed or upset, it's understandable. Do what you can, do what you want, it's your game. Anyways, good day!
9mm Conversions (Rebalance/Realism)
Hello to another world of Ranting About Conversions!
Today, I've found that the 9mm Conversion is supposed to have faster muzzle velocity than .45 ACP.
Turns out, that's the opposite in Phantom Forces, I recommend a 100-500 sps, use multipliers, they'd work great on any gun (with 9mm conversions) increase.
I hope you don't think this is overkill, I mean 9mm does have reduced damage, so why not give it a try? Tell me what you think! Also, feel free and obligated to correct me about this, I'll take it in, or maybe reply with more evidence to a debate.
I've been thinking of something about the skins, and blurring came to my head. You know how you can stretch and enlarge textures? Well, what if we wanted to blur it a bit to make it look smoother and less pixelated? That's where blur comes into play. Do not let the value reach 1, that's a too much blur, 0.8 is great at max already. Could make "tie-dye" looks on skins. This isn't anything major, I'm fine if this doesn't get implemented, but it can act as a better alternative than Transparency. Blurring also helps blend skins more, especially with contrasting color or complex textures you want to soften a bit. Tell me what you think!
Note: Any sign or note of struggle, or error to be able to implement this feature is fully understandable, don't stress yourself, fellow developers! It's fine!
