      Meh. 😐

      Semi-Auto Conversion
      FAL 50.00 and FAL 50.63
Limits weapons to semi-auto. Very slight reduction in overall RoF (still faster than SA58 SPR) with an increase in accuracy and controllability.

      Heavy Barrel
      FAL 50.00
Greatly increases stability at the cost of aim and walk speed.
      Renames FAL 50.00 to FALO.

      30rd Magazine
      FAL 50.00, FAL 50.63, FAL Shorty, G3, AG-3, HK21, MC51SD, and HK51B
Replaces any existing magazines with 30rd 7.62x51mm magazines. Provides the usual advantages and disadvantages for their respective weapons.
      Renames HK21 to HK11.
      Renames HK51B to HK51.

      Short Barrel
      FAL 50.63, MC51SD, HK51B, TEC-9
Typical advantages and disadvantages of other short barrels.
Renames FAL 50.63 to SA58 OSW.
Renames MC51SD to MC51K (unsuppressed) and includes an MP5K-style foregrip if no other underbarrel attachments are equipped.
Renames HK51B to HK51K and includes an MP5K-style foregrip if no other underbarrel attachments are equipped.
      Renames TEC-9 to TEC-9 Mini.

      CQB Barrel
      FAL 50.63
An even shorter barrel with even greater changes.
Renames FAL 50.63 to SA58 OSW.

      Remove Stock
      FAL 50.00, FAL 50.63, FAL Shorty, G3, AG-3, HK21, MC51SD, and HK51B
Pretty self-explanatory. Any hinge or slide is replaced by a simple end cap.

      Magazine Grip
      Any weapon with box magazines
Special grip designed to fit over standard box magazine wells. Greater bonuses to aim and equip speeds than the skeleton grip at the cost of reload speed and stability.

      Curved Grip
      All weapons
A close relative of the angled grip. Similar stats to the angled grip with less of a reduction in aim and equip speeds.

      Micro T-1
      All weapons
      One of Aimpoint's small scope-like red-dot sights.

      SVDK Conversion
      Dragunov SVDS
Rechambers the rifle for 9.3x64mm 7N33. Serious increase in damage and penetration at the expense of fire rate, controllability, and overall handling speed. Lower damage than 9.6x53mm Lancaster, but much better penetration.
Renames Dragunov SVDS to Dragunov SVDK.

      Remove Barrel
      Obrez
Cuts the barrel all the way down to the chamber and removes the handguard, only the cut-down wooden stock (or full stock if equipped) remaining attached. Turns the Obrez into a proper pseudo-shotgun with almost nonexistent accuracy but a guaranteed one-hit kill at very close range. Hand animations are changed to wield the Obrez like a standard pistol, the bolt being cycled with the left hand.

      ...

And for the love of pineapples, separate barrel types from muzzle attachments and stock types from "other" attachments. There's nothing unbalanced about combining these attachments, with the exception of the Sionics suppressor (which already doubles as a long barrel).

    • Barrel lengths and muzzle attachments MUST be divided

Words cannot express how infuriating this is. This started when separate weapon variants started getting bootlegged as attachments (SCAR-H CQC, Mk18 CQBR, Colt SMG 635, etc).

By selecting a "short barrel" or "long barrel" attachment, players are unable to select proper muzzle attachments along with it. There's nothing unbalanced about putting a suppressor on a short barrel, yet we're not able to do that because the slot is already taken up by the change in barrel length.

Basically, why? What is so unbalanced about separating the two categories and letting players combine barrel lengths and muzzle attachments? Is it just an excuse to avoid adjusting muzzle attachment positioning on barrels?

    • RE: Barrel lengths and muzzle attachments MUST be divided

This is the dev mindset that kills games. Fans want a new feature, they say "boom, bootleg, done." Then the devs get angry and defensive when fans say "well wait, no. I wanted to be able to do this and that with the feature."

Not only that. Devs seem to be in disagreement with each other. It's weird seeing this dysfunctional relationship between Shay's legitimately new weapons and Mar's bootlegged attachments. The HK417 was very nearly an attachment for the HK416 even though one is a BR and the other is an AR, and instead of getting something like the Saiga SAR as a DMR, we get ammo conversions to the Saiga-12 that turn it into something other than a shotgun (and prevents the use of AP and HP).

It gets really annoying really fast when corners are cut at the expense of variety and gameplay.

      • Instead of an awesome Russian BR, we get a crappy gimmick conversion on the SVU.
      • Instead of awesome carbines, we get short barrel attachments with no muzzle options.
      • Instead of completely unique shotguns, we get cruddy AK conversions limited to 10-round mags (the actual guns can accept 30-round AK mags or larger full of .366 TKM).
      • Instead of an awesome .410 lever-action with several ammo options, we get one type of .410 ammo as a conversion for the Henry 45-70.
      • Instead of a toggled pump-action fire mode on the SPAS-12, we get yet another crappy gimmick attachment and can't swap modes in combat.
      • Instead of a 16-inch barrel as a short barrel on the M16, we get an M4's 14.5-inch barrel copy-pasted over to it, which basically just gives you a rebalanced M4 with a longer handguard (okay, this is picky, but it still bugs me).
      • Instead of a proper FAL SMG or FN CAL assault rifle, we get bootlegged 5.56 and .45 conversions for BRs, and we're not able to choose AP or HP for them.

      And the list goes on.

I do wish we had a separate "Magazine" section in customization.

Can't forget the barrel shroud as an attachment. It could also increase the fire rate to its original unmitigated 1500rpm.

    • Suggestion - Alternate Pump-Action for SPAS-12

The SPAS-12 is a hybrid semi-auto and pump-action shotgun, and I feel like this should be simulated in PF. It's a pretty simple idea; the SPAS-12 would gain that alternate pump-action mode. Switching to it reduces its fire rate, but improves recoil recovery and hip-fire accuracy.

    • Overdone and Underappreciated Genres

Just a random discussion point I have. There are story genres out there that have been milked dry and others with udders on the verge of bursting... that was an awful metaphor, but you get what I'm trying to convey.

      Let's start with overdone genres:

      Zombie Apocalypse
For crying out loud, this has been done to death, yet it keeps clawing itself back up just like the convenient antagonists it portrays. Every variation of zombie, every character type, every scenario, pretty much nothing original left.

      Alien Invasion
Whether it be apocalyptic or just an excuse for a mysterious antagonist (extraterrestrial, interdimensional, or otherwise), this is also a genre that's just dried out at this point. On the rare occasion, there's a unique scenario, like in Battle of Los Angeles where modern combat tech is pitted against extraterrestrial drone tech on a more-or-less even playing field, or even Avatar where humans are the alien invaders against a primitive species. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be enough creative juice flowing through this category of fiction.

      Superheroes
Super people beating up other super people with no regard for collateral damage and giving everyone else an inferiority complex. Been there, done that. Moving on.

There are a few exceptions; things that have been going on forever yet always manage to get an original twist. One good example:

      Godzilla Movies
Finally getting a big-budget makeover with a unique setting while staying true to their original content. Appeals to nostalgia are worked in perfectly without dominating the plot.

One of the biggest things that long-running franchises have been falling victim to is equating originality to enjoyability. This is not always the case; you can have a completely original plot or arc for the franchise that undermines everything people enjoy about the franchise or tries to appeal to a small number of people that don't even invest in the franchise to begin with (take SJWs for example). Star Wars is one of the biggest victims of this, along with Doctor Who, Marvel Comics, and other unfortunate classics.

Now for the genres that haven't been explored enough:

      Steampunk
Essentially a Victorian Era setting with a heavily industrialized and sometimes mildly futuristic twist, this is by far one of my favorite genres, in a tie with Dieselpunk for first place. Technology in this genre takes a lot of inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci's concept sketches, such as corkscrew propulsion, ornithopters, volley guns, and airship-scale hot air balloons. I'm amazed we don't have a proper multiplayer FPS in this genre yet (Guns of Icarus kind of counts, I guess, but it's less of an FPS and more of a ship crew simulator).

      Dieselpunk
A similar concept to Steampunk, but focused on the Industrial and Modern Eras with similar hyper-industrialized or futuristic aspects. In many cases, this genre is based on how people in these eras envisioned the future, most notably in comic books from those decades. The movies Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow and Captain America: The First Avenger are good examples of Dieselpunk settings. Iron Harvest is a good example of a Dieselpunk RTS game.

      Deep Sea Adventure
To be fair, the Aquaman movie explored this genre a bit, but it was still primarily a superhero movie. Atlantis: The Lost Empire combined a little bit of this with a bit of Dieselpunk, but they weren't the dominant themes. Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was a 1960s sci-fi series in this genre, but there hasn't been much else besides the Subnautica game franchise and a few horror movies.

They would have their damage toned waaay down. Not even the buckshot (which is supposed to be birdshot) would ever be able to OHK.

The idea is something unusual and spammy for the shotgun category besides faster-firing 12g nightmares (I suspect the USAS-12 is on its way with all of the South Korean guns we're getting).

SKS said in Barrel lengths and muzzle attachments MUST be divided:

SlugShotSniper I'm guessing 10 round mag limit because legal magazine capacity limit for Russian civilians is 10 round. (RPK and AK47 shouldn't have them though. AK103 has a .366TKM variant called the TG2. SVD has 9.6x53 Lancaster variant called TG3, no idea why it doesn't rename in game.)

SKS stock looks like fucking Mosin stock instead of beautiful SKS semi-grip stock.

      Henry All-Weather doesn't even have a .45-70 variant.

      (And it better get overhauled.)

True about civilian mags, but even then, they can use standard mags loaded to their full 30-round capacity with .366 TKM.

The 9.6x53 SVD is a bit of an oddity that, although legally a shotgun in Russia, I wouldn't call a shotgun. Its oval bore is a similar concept to the old Whitworth hexagonal bore.

SKS stock is probably another example of a bootleg; ripping the model from something else even though it's not accurate to the design.

Actually, there is a 45-70 All-Weather. The model in-game was discontinued, but there's a modernized version with a side gate instead of that weird slide-out tube mag.
