Rank 100, woohoo!
A dude who used to play ROBLOX. Now just writes on the forum.
semaphorism I'm sorry, but I had to downvote this. Other games on Roblox have achieved better than what Phantom Forces has. Why don't you consider asking other game developers how they program their anticheats? It's always good to learn from other people's experience, not just from your own. My downvote was from the fact that there's an unwillingness to ask for help with the game.
I don't have anything against you, I promise.
B_olts This doesn't seem like a half bad idea! Having an attachment to improve the rate of fire for a weapon. Wait. Wouldn't this mean that someone could put it on an already fast gun like the KRISS or TEC and have it way faster?
I think stylis should use their gun module system to have individual stats for each gun with this attachment. Then people can't do what they did with the SFG and AP.
You're correct. This is Phantom Forces.
It's also the most demanding game on Roblox, with a game engine that has tens of thousands of lines of code dedicated to providing a good experience. This code allowed for Phantom Forces to be vastly more advanced than the rest of the games on Roblox, and Phantom Forces is the reason Roblox has showcase games now.
You make no sense saying it's based on "facts". The game is based on other games such as CS:GO, Call Of Duty, Battlefield etc. It's a mixture of those games with some neat guns. Now. It wouldn't hurt to put in more detail into a game that has been in development for 6 years, right? Right? It wouldn't make sense to improve on mechanics and details in the game, much like other games have the past 30 years?
About the "you want real stuff argument". This game is supposed to be fun, and this person doesn't find it as fun with the suppressors not being put in correctly. If you have an issue, you can kindly walk away from this post. Otherwise, put up with it. Nobody is going to go "oh I don't like this game, well TIME TO JOIN THE FKN MILITARY"
You make no sense whatsoever, and you'dbest respect other people's opinions. This post is because you couldn't hold your fucking tounge.
Oh, and one more thing. Tone down the caps and at least TRY to use proper grammar if you want to be listened to. I'm sure SlugShotSniper would actually give your rambling a chance if you were to just tone it down and press your capslock.
You know what hurts?
The past three years I've played this excuse of a game. The past 2 years I've spent trying to convince this community that hey, something's wrong. Only to be told that I've either been toxic, I'm bad at the game or my PC is trash. Imagine putting in a lot of effort into Phantom Forces, seeing it fall, trying to help it back up, only to be told "Hey, if you don't enjoy the game, don't play it".
Yeah, sorry that I don't want to make use of my 3 years of experience playing this game.
Sorry that I inconvinience you by writing my own opinion on a game I've played for ever, which bothers you.
Sorry that each time I'd write ways to optimise the game, you guys don't want to take the time to look past what YOU want to see rather than what I mean.
Sorry that every single message I write about this game is picked apart and destroyed.
Sorry that my suggestions that this game doesn't need guns is the sole purpose that people don't even put a single second into actually taking ANYTHING I say seriously.
I fucked up in the past, sure. But I TRIED to help this game in some meaningful way. I quit for a reason. And that reason sticks.
OTs-12 The worst thing is complaining that evidence is inconclusive when you can't even provide a clip of blatant hacking
Good morning, afternoon or evening
I've been known to be that guy who's really toxic, but right now.l, I want to talk about the relationship between staff and players in Phantom Forces, and just how much we fuck the developer's heads.
I can understand the stress that comes with game development first hand, and I know how hard it can be to get help with a game you've been working on for a while - if you seek help, a method might not work for you since it uses some other mechanic you don't know.
This might be why StyLIS cannot implement an anticheat - well, that and the motivation. Phantom Forces has been around for half a decade and you can only work so hard so far.
Is it really motivating for stylis when we scream "WE WANT THE XYZ gun!!" Or "WHERES THE EQUIPMENT?!" Or even "SMOKE GRENADE!!"
Like... We can't say it's because ROBLOX is toxic, because there isn't an excuse for toxic behaviour. to have us angry every time stylis fucks up... It's why only a few developers talk here. It's why they don't want to give good mechanics - we're toxic assholes.
Why would stylis want to tell the truth about their game when we don't want to hear it? I've seen the code for phantom forces back when I used to play with the code, (I didn't release any games with stolen assets, I promise) and although removing guns is easy, it's hard to implement other mechanics due to the nature of the games code. It would be hard adding things like medkits, and if it were to break, a rewrite would be necessary
So why not rewrite the game?
Because then you'd have to tailor it to the guns that work with the game currently. Each gun has 100-200 lines of code to it
Copy other code over?
Looking through the code and figuring out which variables are set would be a pain in the ass and a half
Have other people help code?
Run the risk of code being stolen
To conclude, although the Devs have not done many things we want lately, we have not really treated them with respect.
Raspy_Pi I don't know what darkman is saying, so I'm going to give the shittiest guess you will ever hear in your life.
Darkman is probably talking about votekicks overlapping eachother or something, or maybe everyone is just voting no, and the next votekick on the same person just doesn't work.
Phantom Forces cannot be improved further. That's why Cor5 remastered is being developed.
The guns were from a time period when they didn't know what to do, because the thing is... The Phantom Forces engine is delicate. If you make a change to it, you have to be very precise - it's based on some very old code, and changes are hard to make.
The maps are bigger because there needs to be more spots to appeal to the younger kids playing the game - hence why you'll find more campers and more confusing spots.
I hope the best for Cor5 Remastered, we can only focus on this for now.
Darkman_Bree The animation in the game is literally comparable to AAA title shit... holy fuck. THIS is where we need shadowmaps. STYLISSSSSSSS
In all seriousness... This is fucking amazing. I'm so freaking excited for the beta - hey, I'll finally be able to betatest something ffs
CamaroKidBB I don't know the name of any mods anymore, sorry.
