The Basic Idea
Currently, precision weapons are in a very interesting place in Phantom Forces. They're either incredibly overpowered, like the BFG or Hecate, or incredibly under-powered, like the SVU. There are also not very many precision secondaries, other than the SFG. Third, we all agree that the BT is incredibly OP. Well, I have answers for all of these problems.
Balanced Precision Primaries
- 1: The Falkor Defense Petra .300
An AR-10 platform chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum. Slow fire rate, high damage, semi automatic, with a 10 round mag. Low reserves, at only 10+40, very heavy. Sniper category, unlocked at level 60.
- 2: HK-G28
An HK 417 based platform with a 15 round mag. Middle of the line in all respects. Favored by the Ghosts of Bolivia. Has a full-auto mode, but is very hard to control.
- CMMG Banshee 10
An AR pistol chambered in 10mm Auto. Mid range, high damage, low capacity. Only holds 18 rounds in the mag, but with deep reserves. Has a suppressor unlocked at level 0, with the same properties as the Oil Can Suppressor. Can be converted to 5.7mm, .357 Sig, and 9mm Para.
A Replacement for the King
- Precision Scope
A high tech scope with a range finder built in. Calculates for the chambering of the weapon it's equipped on, and adjusts the hold-over lines on the crosshair for the caliber of the weapon. Displays hold-over lines for 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 yards. Range finder displays rough range off anything it points at. Decreases ADS speed and overall sprint speed. Unlocks uniquely, at 500 headshots. Cannot be equipped on anything under .223 caliber, except for the ZIP22.
