The SAIGA-12 is a Russian semi automatic shotgun!
It is unlocked at Rank 63!

Like every other shotgun, it fires the regular 8 pellets per shot dealing a low 27 -> 17 damage per pellet, it is the weakest shotgun in the game, the damage weakens at 60 studs!
Regular muzzle velocity, average suppression and low penetration.

However, the thing that makes the SAIGA-12 shine is the high fire rate of 350 RPM, it even fires faster than the AA-12!
Destroy your enemies with the mighty fire rate!
Do however note that the SAIGA-12 has a high pellet spread, but still slightly more accurate than the DBV12!

This is a mag fed shotgun containing 8 shells worth of ammo and 50 in reserve, if you are not careful, you will burn through this magazine fast with this fire rate!
Reloading takes a long 3.5 seconds or 4.4 if empty leaving you vulnerable!

The SAIGA-12 has quite a high recoil kick and if spammed can cause you to miss your shots, improve this with attachments to make this less of a problem!
The above also applies to hipfiring!

The iron sights are quite small and can be not easy to use.
Alternatively like every other shotgun, you can press T to alt aim!

    Shotgun ammo analysis

Increases penetration and maximum range for less ammo reserve and max damage!

    • Damage: 21.6 -> 17
    • Max range: 72
    • Penetration: 1.5
    • Ammo reserve: 40

Downgrades the power of your shotgun to require 5 hits to kill, this is not good, the spread is already high on this shotgun, it is not worth equipping unless you really want that penetration!

Increases pellets fired per shot and max range for less muzzle velocity, penetration, damage and ammo reserve!

    • Damage: 25.65 -> 15.3
    • Pellets fired: 16
    • Max range: 72
    • Penetration: 0.1
    • Muzzle velocity: 900
    • Ammo reserve: 40

The only damage it will impact is the long range damage past 72 studs, where it will drop to 7 hits required to kill your enemy, as you know a lower muzzle velocity means a higher pellet spread!
But this is still a viable choice for this shotgun!

    Rubber Pellets:

Increases max damage and suppression for less pellets, less minimum damage, less penetration and various other stats.

    • Damage: 35.1 -> 15.3
    • Range: 54 -> 91
    • Pellets fired: 6
    • Torso multiplier: x0.9
    • Penetration: 0.1
    • Suppression: 5.0
    • Ammo reserve: 40
    • Recoil: Overall decreased!

Makes your shotgun be able to 3 hit enemies up close and cause extreme suppression however it limits the pellets fired to 6 per shot, decreasing the amount of hits you can give an enemy and becomes absolutely horrible to use at long range.
The x0.9 torso multiplier drops the damage to 31.59 -> 13.77 so try to hit the limbs or the head, because this makes your shotgun significantly weak!

Massive increase in damage while only firing 1 big and more accurate pellet!

    • Damage: 81 -> 42.5
    • Torso multiplier: x1.2
    • Headshot multiplier: x2.29
    • Pellet spread: 0.405
    • Muzzle velocity: 1800
    • Penetration: 2.0
    • Ammo reserve: 40

Pretty much turns your shotgun into a DMR, but it is not a 100% accurate sniper since there is still minor spread!
It is not powerful enough to one shot torso at all, and cannot one shot headshot at long range serving this more as a DMR than a sniper!
The higher fire rate can help against this lower damage!

    Full-Auto Conv.

An illegal conversion that turns your SAIGA-12 into a 350 RPM fully automatic shotgun!

    (+) Firemode set to Auto!
    (-) Slight increase in recoil!
(-) Signfiicant increase in pellet spread! (Does not apply to .223 Conv, 7.62 Conv, .308 Conv and 9.6x53 Conv.!)
    (-) Decreased min range!

It outshoots the AA-12 with a faster fire rate, but this is truly the least accurate shotgun in the whole game!
This conversion is super useful with the SAIGA-223 and SAIGA-762!

    .223 Conv.

Turns your SAIGA-12 into the SAIGA-223 firing .223 Remington!

The SAIGA-223 is an assault rifle that is stuck in semi auto unless you apply the Full-Auto Conv. with it making it a true assault rifle!

It deals 34 -> 23 damage and starts becoming weaker at 30 studs!
It has a high muzzle velocity of 2500 studs/s with a good penetration and quite low suppression!
It fires at a nice 650 RPM, the Full-Auto Conv. is recommended for this because it is hard to reach this fire rate with click spamming
Uses 30 round magazines with 120 ammo in reserve but keep in mind it takes long to reload!

Recoil wise, it has a small vertical kick but has some horizontal kick that needs to be fixed with a Compensator to become quite accurate!
Hipfiring is not recommended, it has a very high kick making it inaccurate!

    Recommended loadout for the SAIGA-223:

    • OKP-7
    • Compensator
    • Stubby Grip
    • Full-Auto Conv.
    • .223 Conv.

    7.62 Conv.

Turns your SAIGA-12 into the SAIGA-762 using 7.62x39mm!

The SAIGA-762 is a powerful assault rifle that is stuck in semi auto unless you use the Full-Auto Conv.!

It has the general stats of the AK's, dealing 39 -> 28 damage which starts to drop at 70 studs and fires at 600 RPM which can be achieved with the Full-Auto Conv.!
It fires at 2000 studs/s muzzle velocity with a good suppression and a quite good penetration!
It uses 30 round magazines with 120 ammo in reserve, just keep in mind of the long reload!

Unfortunately it has very high recoil that cannot be fixed with attachments, but the least you can do is lower it to make it more usable!
    This also applies to hipfiring!

    Recommended loadout for the SAIGA-762:

    • OKP-7
    • Compensator
    • Stubby Grip
    • Full-Auto Conv.
    • 7.62 Conv.

    .308 Conv.

Turns your SAIGA-12 into the SAIGA-308 using .308 Winchester!

You either have a DMR being semi automatic or a Battle Rifle being fully automatic, this is the choice you have to take!

The SAIGA-308 deals a powerful 40 -> 33 damage and has a x1.1 torso multiplier allowing 3 hit torso kills at all ranges, it starts losing power at a long 80 studs!
It fires at 600 RPM, 2400 studs/s muzzle velocity and has a nice penetration and okay suppression!
It uses 20 round magazines with 120 ammo in reserve, keep in mind of the long reload!

It has very high recoil that is hard to tame, with a DMR setup it will be easy, but going full auto is hard.
    This also applies to hipfiring!

Recommended loadout for the SAIGA-308 Battle Rifle setup:

    • OKP-7
    • Compensator
    • Stubby Grip
    • Full-Auto Conv.
    • .308 Conv.

Recommended loadout for the SAIGA-308 DMR setup:

    • ACOG Scope
    • Muzzle Brake
    • Stubby Grip
    • Tri Laser
    • .308 Conv.

    9.6x53 Conv.

Turns your SAIGA-12 into the SAIGA-953 using 9.6x53mm LANCASTER!

The SAIGA-953 is a sniper rifle, the Full-Auto Conv. is not recommended because of the insanely low fire rate making it useless!

It deals a powerful 68 -> 50 damage and has a x2.04 headshot multiplier allowing one shot headshots at all range, it also has a x1.2 torso multiplier which does not matter much.
It has a 2200 studs/s muzzle velocity, a quite powerful penetration and a good suppression.
It fires at 70 RPM, it can be made fully automatic but it is not recommended at all!
It feeds from 10 round magazines and has 50 ammo in reserve, keep in mind of the long reload!

It has a high recoil kick and quite slow recovery speed, but it centers before the next shot, however it is recommended you wait slightly longer to make sure your shot does not miss since it is not 100% centered yet when you can shoot again!

    Recommended loadout for the SAIGA-953:

    • PU-1 Scope
    • Long Barrel
    • Stubby Grip
    • Tri Laser
    • 9.6x53 Conv.

Why a PU-1 Scope and not the Global Offensive Scope? it has a low muzzle velocity where this sniper is more suited for "medium-long" range and this allows you to alt aim without running in the problem where you have 3 aim abilities.
If you can trust yourself with the low muzzle velocity at the longest range, you can take the Global Offensive Scope!

The SAIGA-12 has a ton of unique attachments, allowing a ton of customization on this gun, they are the: Short Barrel, Long Barrel, Romanian Grip, Hera CQR Grip, Retract Stock, Full-Auto Conv., .223 Conv, 7.62 Conv, .308 Conv and 9.6x53 Conv.!
Since this gun is a shotgun, it has access to Flechette, Birdshot, Rubber Pellets and Slugs ammo!

If you want a loadout, I recommend you this:

    • OKP-7
    • Muzzle Brake
    • Angled Grip
    • Tri Laser
    • Default

    • Keep in mind that atleast 1 pellet of your shotgun will always stay 100% accurate in the center of your shot!
    • It is one of the most customizable guns in the game, being an Assault Rifle, Battle Rifle, Carbine, DMR, Shotgun and a Sniper Rifle all at once!
      • Using a Short Barrel with the .223 Conv. or 7.62 Conv. technically makes it a Carbine!

    My opinion on this gun

At first I disliked this shotgun.
But when I had to grind for the Full Auto conversion, I used it daily until I unlocked it and I started enjoying it more!
(And then Mar lowered the kill requirement the moment I unlocked it, how dare you Mar!)

Also the custom weapon setups, it feels so fun being able to customize this gun in so many ways, I love sniping with the SAIGA-953 or running assault with the SAIGA-223!

I rate this gun a 10/10 because of this customization!
